Op. 13 – A Song for Joanne

A Song for Joanne was originally written for piano, as the fourth piece of the First Book of Dances and Songs, op. 14. The version for concert band is more than a simple transcription. The extended instrumental palette allowed me to add countermelodies, as well as a brief introduction not present at all in the original. While the instrumental parts are simple enough for school bands, the scoring is light, requiring confident players.
